Hope, Health, and Heart: AfriTAL’s May 1st Medical Outreach Brings Lifesaving Care to the Underserved

On May 1st, 2025, AfriTAL, in partnership with the NNPC Medicals Warri, Capitol Hill Clinic/Hospital, and the office of I.G. Konwea (Legal Luminary per se), organized a life-impacting medical outreach focused on hypertension and diabetes—two of the most silent yet devastating health conditions in our communities.

The outreach, part of AfriTAL’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, was not just a routine check-up event—it was a mission to give hope, restore health, and connect deeply with those who need care the most. While general vitals checks, malaria testing, and blood sugar screenings were conducted for all attendees, our medical team placed special emphasis on identifying, treating, and following up on hypertensive and diabetic patients.

Diagnosing and Adopting for Continuity

The most impactful twist to this year’s edition was our patient adoption program. At the end of the day’s activities, individuals diagnosed with hypertension and diabetes were not only informed and counseled—they were also adopted by AfriTAL. These patients will now benefit from ongoing support and medication supply, subject to the availability of resources. This innovative move reflects our belief that real change happens when intervention becomes continuity.

Partnerships That Made It Happen

We are grateful to the board and directors of AfriTAL, whose unwavering commitment made this vision possible. Special thanks go to our incredible partners:

  • NNPC Medicals, Warri – for providing professional personnel and medical logistics.
  • Capitol Hill Clinic/Hospital – for providing professional personnel and medical logistics..
  • I.G. KONWEA, Legal Luminary Per Se – for legal advocacy.
  • And most importantly, to our passionate volunteers—medical professionals, students, logisticians, and community mobilizers—who gave their time, energy, and hearts to serve.

Call for Support

This is just the beginning. Our vision is to scale this initiative, reaching more communities, adopting more patients, and ensuring that no one battles chronic illness alone due to lack of resources.

We urgently call on donors, corporate bodies, and well-meaning individuals to support this noble cause. Your contributions in cash or kind—whether medication supplies, medical equipment, or financial donations—can help us continue and expand this life-saving intervention.
